Qualitative interviews
One-to-one conversations exploring needs, fears, motivations, language and lived reality in depth.
Lived-experience intelligence
HopeStage was founded by people with lived experience of mental health conditions. We combine trusted community relationships, qualitative research and product strategy to uncover deeper insight and turn it into decisions your team can use.
Existing trust. Faster access. Human-led interpretation.
Why the insight is different
Many people in the HopeStage community have followed our work for years. They have listened to our podcasts, joined peer-support groups, taken part in psychoeducation and shared their experiences with us.
When they speak with HopeStage, they are often not speaking to a stranger. Established trust and shared lived experience can create more candid, condition-aware conversations about fear, identity, burden, language, treatment and unmet needs.
This can reveal nuance that cold recruitment or a one-off research panel may miss.
Faster access
Finding relevant people and earning enough trust for an honest conversation can take time. HopeStage already has established relationships across mental health communities, allowing many projects to begin without building that connection from zero.
We can often identify relevant voices and begin fieldwork faster while keeping participation voluntary, consent-aware and appropriate to the research question.
Methods
One-to-one conversations exploring needs, fears, motivations, language and lived reality in depth.
Structured sessions used to test concepts, messages, participant journeys, product decisions and practical trade-offs.
Quantify themes after the qualitative question is understood, rather than using a survey to discover the question.
Identify the natural words people use, the terms they reject and the language that creates trust, confusion, fear or action.
Clarify which audiences to prioritise based on motivation, readiness, burden, trust and context.
Locate where understanding, trust, motivation or practical burden breaks—and what decision could improve it.
From access to action
Clarify what the team needs to decide differently after the research.
Find relevant people through trusted community relationships and project-specific recruitment.
Conduct consent-aware interviews, focus groups, surveys or co-design sessions.
Use recordings, transcripts, structured qualitative coding and AI-assisted synthesis where appropriate. Every finding is reviewed and interpreted by humans.
Turn insight into product priorities, messaging, recruitment design, participant journeys, content, positioning or go-to-market recommendations.
Human-led analysis
Where appropriate and consented, HopeStage uses recording, transcription, structured coding and AI-assisted tools to organise themes, compare language and accelerate synthesis.
AI does not decide what participants mean. Interpretation and recommendations remain human-led, combining qualitative research, lived experience and commercial context.
Beyond the research report
HopeStage brings experience in product development, user research, positioning and go-to-market strategy. This means participant insight is translated into practical decisions rather than left as a collection of transcripts and themes.
Direct access to people affected matters most when the findings can change what the team does next.
